Developing and Demonstrating a “Feedforward” Gasifier Feed Control System

In a DOE funded project, researchers will establish a viable pathway for the production of net-zero hydrogen through biomass and waste gasification. GTI Energy will develop and conduct a pilot demonstration of a novel “feedforward” gasifier feed control system that will be used with an R-GAS™ entrained flow gasification system to produce net-zero hydrogen.

The control system will measure and analyze biomass and waste feedstock compositions to optimize operating parameters, maximize the effective syngas yield, and ultimately increase the clean hydrogen yield. The project will execute a full techno-economic analysis and life-cycle assessment study for a 500-tonne-per-day hydrogen production plant.
